My Easter Celebration
I’ve always loved Easter. Maybe it’s because of all the COLOR, or maybe because my birthday falls this month so I often get to share that with Easter. Either way, it’s a holiday I enjoy.
This year I entertained family at home, in part so we could enjoy the newly completed condo renovation. I had fun thinking about how to decorate my table for the occasion. Since there were only eight of us, and my children were scheduled to fly back home later in the afternoon, I decided to make it a brunch celebration. I planned to keep it on the casual side, serving buffet-style, and hoped the weather would cooperate so we could eat outside on the lanai. Happily, that wish came true! It was a picture-perfect South Florida day.
I opted to pair somewhat dressier decor on a more casual table that I ordered new for my space from Article. It is a driftwood table with a thick white metal base. I love the look—very beachy! The chairs are from my friends at Serena & Lily. If you haven’t visited their website yet, it is to die for. Everything I want!
I decided against using a tablecloth or runner to let the beauty of the wooden table be the star. My china has a turquoise band which is very Easter and I also have bunny-shaped napkin holders. Light turquoise napkins complement my china. I don’t like going overboard on the holiday gear. With the new condo, even if I wanted to I couldn’t since our storage is so much more limited. So, pick a few things you really love and make it work! Less is better, but I do like Easter so I have some things I just don’t want to get rid of. I always seem to purchase a kitchen towel or two for the occasion. They make me happy! I pulled out my crystal, too. Why not, I say! If you have it, you should use it!
A Successful Holiday Plan
Everything worked out great! It was wonderful to have the family together for the holiday. Planning ahead keeps things more stress-free and, truthfully, not having as much storage as I used to makes it easier because I use what I have rather than overthinking things. Pops of spring color and seasonal flowers bring out the holiday without creating too much work for you, or coming across as too themed. If you celebrated this weekend, I hope you had an equally wonderful time with family and loved ones!
